What is a Community of Practice?

In a community of practice, members come together around learning needs for a shared concern or passion.  Collective learning in a community of practice creates a bond among members over time.

Folk School Alliance Community of Practice meetings are sponsored by the Folk Education Association of America and occur every month on the 4th Tuesday with the exception of July and December, when no meetings are held. The monthly virtual gathering provides a space for folk school founders, administrators, staff, and guests where attendees may find camaraderie and support along with a significant pool of problem-solving experience and resources.
